Development and Modeling of Low-Cost Tandem Solar Cells ofthe Perovskite/Silicon Type

The Laboratory of Innovative Technologies “LTI” through its MIM team is involved in the field of energy, the environment and ecological transition through the development of new architectures or even new materials or new materials or new concepts of photovoltaic solar cells. As part of the A2U, the LTI developed this project in close collaboration with UDSMM of ULCO, the LERMAB of the University of Lorraine and the University of Ibn Tofail, Morocco.

The expected scientific advance consists of significantly improving the efficiency of photovoltaic cells based on Perovskite/silicon tandem solar cell technology by optimizing the electrical and optical properties of the thin perovskite layer. Specific objectives are :

  • Identifiy the types of perovskites meeting the requirements encountered
  • Develop efficient processes for the low-cost synthesis of identified perovskites,
  • Master all stages of manufacturing and testing a photovoltaic cell based on Perovskite/silicon tandem solar cell technology
  • Identify and remove technological barriers
  • Create and test a cell prototype at the end of the project
